Did you know dolphins are one of the most well loved animal on this planet? Although dolphin is a sea animal but it is not considered as fish . Since fish uses gills to breathe but dolphin don’t use gills to breathe. They use lungs. That’s why they are considered as mammals . Not just but whale , seals are also mammals ( marine mammals). Marine mammals can take up to 80% of the air with a single breath. Just like cows, dolphin has a two stomach. One of them is for storing the food and the other one is for digestion. Dolphins and other sea mammals can eat thirty three pounds of fish everyday. Unlike other sea animals, dolphins don’t chew their food.
Dolphins are warm blooded animal
Dolphins are able to regulate their body temperature which is an advantage for their survival. So when the water is too cold they can stay warm. Most of the dolphins live in saltwater but some also live in fresh water . River dolphin lives in fresh water, since they are far away from sea.
Dolphins have extraordinary sense
Although dolphins don’t have a sense of smell, they are gifted with impressive sense of sight . Dolphin uses echolocation. By using echo and sound wave they can pinpoint location and locate things from far away. Dolphin also has a quiet good sense of touch.
Dolphin is much sharper and faster than you can think. One of the thing that is unique about dolphins is that they have very large brains .
Dolphins are extraordinarily smart too . Well, they are bound to be smart since they live in a quiet complex group which more likely is one of the reasons that their brain is so high developed.
Dolphins have the second highest IQ in all animal. They are considered genius. They are very clever. They are so clever that even U.S Navy trains dolphins. Dolphins have been used by military since 1960s. Dolphins finds and retrieves lost items. Also when a swimmer swims into restricts areas, that is when a military dolphin comes into play.
Dolphins are more likely to be colorblind because they don’t have the cones that enables the color vision. Most dolphins are small. They can be 10 feet in length. They have sharp teeth .
Dolphins are well known and loved worldwide for their grace , playfulness, intelligence and being friendly to humans.
Dolphins are highly sociable creature. They can communicate with other dolphins by being able to use a certain range of ultrasonic pulses and sounds .
Dolphins has a really good communication with other dolphins. Dolphins have three way of communication . These three ways are used for hunting and communication.
Echolocation, squeak and social communication. Dolphins use their tail for communication by slapping the water with their tail. They also whistle when in need of communication.
Dolphins makes noises ( like giggling) when they are happy. That is called Victory squeaks. .
Dolphins also slaps water hard by using their tail . They also make loud noise by clapping with their jaw .
Dolphins communicates with other dolphins by making whistling sound. And dolphins clicks when they are sensing their surroundings by using echolocation. Dolphins whistle through their blowholes. Dolphins whistle is in too high frequency for a human to hear .
Although humans loves dolphin and likes to play with them. It is safe to stay away from them. Dolphin isn’t exactly that much fond of humans. As humans are their primarily threats.
Dolphins are actually quite aggressive. They like to hunt and kill fishes for fun. They torture their prey before eating it.
Dolphins even likes to be aggressive with other dolphins.
Although sharks are more stronger then dolphins , dolphins have high IQ and they are more clever. Sharks likes to roam and hunt alone , dolphin isn’t like that . Dolphins like to hunt together. It’s easier to hunt prey when all of them are together. Dolphins also shows aggression when mating with a female dolphin .
Although dolphins are quite aggressive but they are still very much clever and the smartest ocean mammals.
Dolphins still are and will always be one of the most loved sea creature because of its Grace, smartness and liveliness .
